We currently have an exciting opportunity for an experienced individual to join our team as a Digital Officer. You will join us working 35 hours per week, on a permanent basis and will be based remotely. In return you will receive a salary of up to £32,894.59 per annum plus excellent benefits.
Since 1927, Cats Protection has helped thousands of cats each year, across the UK. As a community of volunteers, employees, supporters and partners, we’ve improved the lives of millions of cats and transformed the way millions of people see and care for cats.
The Websites team is a small but busy team, responsible for managing the national Cats Protection website and our regional branch and centre sites. Our aim is to develop and enhance our web presence so it’s optimised for user experience and effectively promotes the charity’s key aims.
Responsibilities of our Digital Officer:
As a Digital Officer you will play a vital role in ensuring Cats Protection’s web presence is accessible, user-friendly and optimised for search engines. You will work with the website manager and wider digital team to manage the development of the national and regional websites, maximising the effectiveness of these digital channels. This role involves not only content creation and management but also scoping features, liaising with regional web editors and testing functionalities to ensure a seamless user experience.
What we’re looking for in our Digital Officer:
- Experience in a similar role using a content management system (CMS)
- Proven ability to write engaging, search engine optimised web content for a range of audiences
- Experience using Google Analytics to track website performance
- Image editing skills
- Knowledge of web best practice
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Knowledge of web accessibility and usability standards
