The job role:
- Provide remote and on-site technical support to customers.
- Maintain and update technical documentation.
- Liaise with customers at all levels to deliver world-class support.
- Manage projects including installations, updates, migrations, and IT-based initiatives.
- Support project execution and technology maintenance.
Main Duties and Tasks:
- Offer technical assistance to customers both remotely and on-site.
- Ensure technical documentation is up-to-date and accurate.
- Communicate effectively with customers and internal stakeholders.
- Manage projects related to installations, updates, and migrations.
- Collaborate with software providers for research and support services.
What we are looking for:
- Demonstrated IT aptitude with knowledge of common operating systems.
- Experience with hardware interfacing technology and Compass VMS.
- Proficiency in project management and IT fault diagnosis.
- Familiarity with relational and object-oriented databases (MS SQL Server, Oracle).
- Knowledge of SQL Query commands.
Experience & Knowledge:
- Degree or HNC/HND in an IT-related subject
- Experience in a manufacturing/automation environment.
- Strong alpha-numeric skills, especially in report writing.
- Effective problem-solving abilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Willingness to travel and work away from home.
- Ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure.
