Job description

In Finance, we work hand-in-hand with leaders across the company to ensure smooth, disciplined execution of strategic business objectives. Our Strategic Finance team provides comprehensive financial insight into the business through regional and functional business partnering, forecasting and budgets, and pricing and incentives.
About the Role
This role based out of London (UK), will be supporting the UK Mobility business and working closely together with the UK management team.
You will have a direct ability to impact the success and the trajectory of the business through your work that will cover short- and longer term forecasting, performance deep dives, analysis to support strategic decision making and, various projects aimed at improving the performance of the business.
You will be in a unique position, which will enable you to connect the dots across various dimensions of the business, generating insights others might not be able to make.
If you're ready to go deep working on a rewarding set of challenges and if you've got the finance skills, passion, and a strong team mentality - read on and get in touch!
What You'll Do
  • Financial planning and analysis: work closely with the finance organization and with regional business leaders to develop financial forecasts and operational goals, apply business judgement and financial insights to help with decision making
  • Sophisticated financial modeling: build models from scratch, improve existing models, and break complex models down into components that consolidate
  • Think strategically and implement: the models we build aid in decision making and strategy - we operationalize our insights
  • Monthly close: analyze variances between actuals, forecast, and plan - use insights to iterate on forecasts and create/discuss potential action plans with cross-functional stakeholders
  • Process improvement: help improve our planning processes and ensure finance best practices spread through the organization. Work closely with accounting to provide input on management reporting needs and better understand our actuals
  • Business optimization: support initiatives that optimize our global UberEats P&L. Work closely with the Senior Finance Management to provide financial insights and assess the company's overall progress towards its strategic objectives.
  • Innovate: we will push the boundaries beyond traditional forecasting. Be creative, adaptive, and eager to learn new technical skill sets
  • Special projects: new initiatives always come up, you will have the chance to contribute beyond regular modelling
Basic Qualifications
  • 6+ years experience in Corporate Finance, Banking, and/or FP&A at either a high-growth company or a large, well-established organization
Preferred Qualifications
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills; you are confidently managing up, down and across to help and drive decisions. You are comfortable to speak up, challenge others (be the voice of reason, rooted in financial savvy) and be challenged yourself;
  • Excellent communication skills: numbers are key, but a business is built with people and so your written and verbal communication is clear, concise and persuasive. You are a good storyteller and great with powerpoint;
  • You have good business acumen and make it your mission to understand the business and the external landscape we operate it, in order to make your recommendations tailored and highly relevant;
  • A combination of the following functional/financial skills: good knowledge of accounting and financial reporting (GAAP), hands on experience with Hyperion, TM1 or comparable financial systems, revenue and cost forecasting and financial modelling - all within a complex, multi-geography business;
  • Elite Excel/Google Sheet skills: Best practices are second-nature, your models are efficient, scalable and intuitive
  • SQL skills: the ability to self-serve, investigate and get the data we require will make you much more effective in this role
  • Systems: working knowledge of enterprise-level financial planning systems
  • Self-starter: You will take initiative, be dedicated, set and drive toward goals.
  • Ownership: You take pride in what you do and act as a co-owner of the business, always doing what is best for the business and its shareholders;
  • You are able to operate at both the strategic and the operational/tactical level; this requires both an attention to detail and the ability to take a step back.
  • Focus on what matters most: We need to do things quickly, and we need to do them well. Striking that balance can be challenging but should be a strength
