Join one of the world’s top medical schools as Student Services Administrator (0.5FTE), supporting the experience and welfare of tomorrow’s doctors.
Imperial College London’s Faculty of Medicine is one of the world’s top medical schools at one of the world’s most-respected universities. At the forefront of medical education, your work here will help create the next generation of doctors and scientists—benefiting patients and populations globally.
Duties and responsibilities
As Student Services Administrator (0.5FTE) you will be joining a small team responsible for delivering vital pastoral services within the Undergraduate School of Medicine programmes (MBBS Medicine and BSc Medical Biosciences). Supporting over 2500 students, you will be one of the first-line administrative contact for all student-financial cases including supporting students accessing the School of Medicine Hardship fund, signposting to the College’s Student Support Fund, and providing signposting advice to financial management tools. To help shape our wider student community and highlight the importance of wellbeing, you would help coordinate the welfare team’s communication package including fortnightly welfare bulletins, working with the Student Union on wellbeing campaigns and supporting welfare-wellbeing focused training events hosted by the School of Medicine.
In addition, you will also support the Welfare Officer and Student Services Manager in implementing opportunities for improvement of existing administrative mechanisms, developing solutions and implementing approved wellbeing changes.
Essential requirements
You must be educated to degree level or equivalent, and have a high level of computer literacy, including confidence in using Excel, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You will have a high attention to detail and strong organisation skills. Whilst experience of working in higher education and in a pastoral focused post is welcome, we are more interested in your skills and attitudes.
This post is part time (0.5 FTE) and fixed term for 14 months. The post is hybrid with at least 60% of your time working primarily from the South Kensington campus in Southwest London, but with potential travel to other campuses to suit business needs.
