Overview:
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team, providing support to adults aged 18-65. As a Support Worker, you will provide essential care and assistance to individuals in need. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of others.
The successful candidate will be required to work a minimum of 36 hours per week including weekends and bank holidays. The post may require you to work some night shifts or sleep-ins if required. Experience and drivers is desirable.
You will be required to apply for an enhanced DBS check and register for the government update service to keep the DBS certificate up to date.
Duties:
- Provide personal care and support to individuals
- Assist with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, and grooming
- Administer medications as prescribed by healthcare professionals
- Monitor and record vital signs, such as blood pressure and temperature
- Assist with meal preparation and ensure dietary needs are met
- Provide companionship and engage in meaningful activities with clients
- Implement behaviour management strategies as directed by supervisors
- Assist with mobility and transfers, including heavy lifting when necessary
Experience:
- Previous experience in patient care or home care is preferred
- Knowledge of behaviour management techniques
- Familiarity with medication administration protocols is desirable
- Previous experience in Autism, Learning disabilities, challenging behaviours is preferred
