Sustainability Support Officers
Salary: 25,188 - 13.09 p/h
Full time role only - 37 hours per week Monday - Friday
Hybrid working - 2 days a week minimum at Newport office
Job Description:
Purpose:
This role is based within the Sustainability Team. The team sits within the People and Place Directorate and deals with the following functions:
- Environmental Management
- Physical Security
- Business Continuity
- Corporate Social Responsibility & Volunteering
- Physical & Mental Wellbeing
The post holder will primarily be required to support all aspects of this work but primarily environmental management and physical & mental wellbeing.
Main duties
- Assist the Environmental, Wellbeing and BCP Managers to deliver their individual programmes.
- Work closely with internal and external stakeholders.
- Investigate and source awareness and volunteering opportunities and promote to IPO staff.
- Support national campaigns and events and work with different organisations to provide support and information for staff.
- Assist the IPO Green Team to provide a programme of environmental awareness for IPO.
- Liaise with internal stakeholders to raise awareness of Sustainability Team activities.
- Collate statistical information to inform decision making in relation to sustainability team activities.
- Arrange meetings, take minutes and follow up actions for the various boards and committees managed by Sustainability Team.
- Assist planning and scheduling of office wide training and awareness.
- Provide day to day support for all Sustainability Team activities.
Skills
Support will be provided to the post holder, but due to the short length of the posting the successful candidate should be able to demonstrate competence quickly in:
- Confident oral and written communication skills
- Collaboration with business areas across the IPO and externally
- Organisation and prioritisation of tasks
Previous experience in a similar role would be an advantage but not essential.
Other Info:
This full-time role will be carried out in-line with IPO Hybrid working arrangements where we would encourage candidates to discuss working arrangements with the recruiting manager to agree a reasonable balance between working from home and the office. The requirement for attendance on-site at our Newport office for this role will be a minimum of 2 days a week.
You will be required to attend site for additional workshops, training, and other business essential work as and when required. This may be short notice.
This is a temporary role that will last until end September 2024 with possibility of extension.
