As the university of the state of North Rhine–Westphalia, the German Sport University Cologne is unique in Germany with its research spectrum and around 6,000 students. It is also one of the most renowned universities in its field internationally. The central operating unit for information technology (ze.IT) operates the university's IT infrastructure.
ze.IT has immediate vacancies for 2 full–time positions as System Architect, Network Architect or IT Security Specialist (f/m/d) with a regular working week of currently 39 hours and 50 minutes. One position is permanent, the other is initially limited until 31.12.2027.
System architect, Network Architect or IT Security Specialist (f/m/d)

Your main tasks

• You will contribute to the continuous development of the system landscape with a focus on IT security.
• You are responsible for the technical implementation of the IT security measures specified by Compliance in various areas of IT operations and also carry out some of these yourself.
• You ensure the prompt elimination of IT security gaps.
• You ensure that IT systems and IT applications are configured according to best practice security aspects.
• Together with the system administrators, you create technical documentation for the IT systems and IT procedures and ensure that it is up to date.
• You will work closely with the information security department and the information security officer.
• You work intensively with the BSI certification process

Your professional profile

Required is
A successfully completed university degree (FH Diploma or Bachelor), preferably in the field of IT security / computer science, or a successfully completed apprenticeship in the IT sector combined with several years of relevant professional experience
Desirable are

• Several years of practical experience in IT operations with a focus on IT security
• Confident use of the German and English language
• Proven knowledge and experience in the planning, development and modernization of System Architectures in compliance with BSI standard assurance
• Proven knowledge and experience in the technical implementation of IT security measures, for example in the areas of "Windows domain" or in the area of data backup
