Mangotsfield School is excited to be recruiting for a permanent, full time Teacher of English. This position has become available as our current teacher is moving overseas. The current postholder has said that the school has been ‘an incredible place to teach and develop’ and that ‘the teachers make this a warm environment to work in’.

About the Role
You will teach both English at Key Stage Three and Four. Your primary role will be to support and challenge all students to achieve their full potential and achieve academic success through strong classroom practice. You will be expected to contribute to the priorities of the English department, including the quality of curriculum, teaching and learning and assessment. You will also be expected to act as a role model to all students upholding the school values, and at all times promoting the safety and welfare of young people in accordance with CSET/School policies and procedures and any associated guidance.
About you
We are looking for a reflective practitioner, capable of demonstrating initiative, as well as being flexible and adaptable. You will ensure equity of opportunity, irrespective of starting points, to enable all learners to make good progress.
You will uphold our Mangotsfield School values and ensure you are a role model for staff and students. You will be personable, supportive and see the value in working collaboratively. You will embrace diversity, value intellectual curiosity and understand the importance of evidence-based teaching.
You will be ICT proficient and have excellent communication skills. You will have an up-to-date knowledge of best practice in English Teaching and seek to apply this in your classroom.
