Teaching Assistant
Term Time Only plus 5 days – 19 hours per week – permanent contract
B1 – B2 depending on experience
Start date: Monday 29th April 2024 – or sooner if available
OASIS is an alternative provision for KS2 children with SEMH needs. We are based at Swinnow Primary School, but provide places for children from 35 schools in the west of Leeds. Children continue with their academic learning, but also access a range of therapeutic style interventions to help them develop the skills they need to succeed at school. Some of our children are with us for a few weeks; other have longer placements. Most of our children return to their original schools; others move on to a different school or specialist provision.
We are looking for a Teaching Assistant to join our friendly team. The successful candidate will work Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, supporting children with their learning and behaviour in class. In the afternoons, they will support our children as they access therapeutic interventions.
The successful candidate should be resilient, flexible and enthusiastic. We are looking for someone with experience working in schools, but an ability to develop positive relationships with children who often present with challenging behaviour is much more important.
Working in OASIS isn’t always an easy role – but it is extremely rewarding. If you think this could be the challenge you are looking for, then we’d love to hear from you.
If you are interested in finding out more, please visit our website, telephone our manager – James Phillips – or even better come and have a look for yourself. Please contact our office team to make an appointment. We’d be delighted to meet you.
