Job description

Rethink Mental Illness are looking for an experienced Team Leader to be part of Bristol Men’s Crisis House Service Team.

1 x full-time position available - *Appointment will be made at the bottom of the salary band

All our Accommodation services aim to support people to achieve maximum independence, and to move on to more independent accommodation. Bristol Men’s Crisis House service is an up to 14 night stay for men experiencing a Crisis.

Overview of the role purpose:

As Housing Team Leader, you will lead and support the team to deliver a responsive and customer orientated housing and floating support services, supporting the Service Manager with effective management of our housing services.

  • I allocate work and monitor the team’s contribution to objectives / outcomes for the service; planning and prioritising key areas of work
  • I ensure that appropriate staff resource is in place to meet the service outcomes specification
  • I role model behaviours and values, as a lead practitioner, providing expertise and guidance on practice issues to the team
  • I support and develop your team through on the job coaching, individual supervision and group supervision
  • I ensure staff development activities are the most appropriate and are within budget
  • I support the recruitment and induction of staff and volunteers within the service


Essential skills and experienced required for this role:

  • Experience of providing support to people with a mental illness; or experience of providing care and/or support services within another social care setting in either a paid or voluntary capacity.
  • Knowledge and understanding of recovery principles and embedding the ethos of recovery into your own practice.
  • The ability to make a comprehensive assessment of an individual’s situation and needs; to develop, implement and review risk management plans and devise support plans to meet these needs.
  • Experience in a comparable role, preferably in housing, social services, residential care or supported housing.
