As a Team Manager you will provide support, recognition, guidance, and professional oversight to team members within your practice area.
We are looking for a talented strong and ambitious leader to join our strong management group within our wider Children in Care Service to lead one of our Children in Care teams.
This role includes managing social workers allocated to a full range of Children in Care, which may also include Unaccompanied Asylum Seeking Children (UASC), Early Permanence and Care Leavers.
If you are either a current Team Manager, looking to develop their practice in a different practice area or an experienced practitioner with supervisory experience looking for their progression into management, this is an exciting opportunity to develop your career further.
- First and foremost, as a supportive manager you will be able to get the best from your team members whilst ensuring they are fully supported and know how valued they are.
- Ensuring a focus on the individual and assisting in personal and professional development through the several available pathways and programmes offered by our Children’s Services.
- You will lead and oversee a consistently good service to these looked after children and young people as well as ensure specialist assessment and support is undertaken and delivered effectively to improve the outcomes and promote a positive future for Children in care, unaccompanied asylum seeking children or care leavers.
What we need from you
- You will have relevant professional qualification and experience in a relevant setting, such as Corporate Parenting or Social Care that must include experience of management of staff, and supervision of other professionals.
- You will be able to evidence your ability to lead teams to achieve optimum performance in delivering excellent social care services for children.
- You will have evidence of on-going continuous professional development and a thorough knowledge of current legislation and practice relating to children and young people’s services.
- Demonstrable experience of managing social workers responsible for age assessments or evidence of service improvement would be desirable.
