Disabled Children’s Team
Rate: up to £45 per hour
We are recruiting for motivated qualified social worker to join our busy team. This role is with one of the UK’s highest performing local authorities, serving as one of the best places to live and work in.
This is a qualified role requiring you to be SWE registered and have relevant experience within children’s services.
We are looking to appoint an experienced Team Manager to work in our DCYPS Team. They will work within assessment alongside our other Team Managers to oversee a team who are undertaking initial visits and assessment of need.
Candidates should provide strong management oversight and support to improving the quality of Social Work practice and intervention whilst keeping the child at the centre.
Working from home and office working is balanced where applicable, individual requests to be in the office and the needs of individuals and teams are by agreement with the manager. The candidate will be expected to be in the office more in the initial stages of employment to help build the team cohesion and feeling of stability. The candidate will be provided with a laptop and smart phone to assist with this.
All children will be seen face to face unless you have COVID confirmed.
What we need you to do:
- Develop a clear team plan which links the strategic objectives of the organisation, local improvements in performance and learning from complaints.
- Lead and provide day to day management of the team, providing appropriate support, personal development review and performance management to ensure the delivery of high quality services, the safety and well-being of the staff and effective use of resources.
- Provide monthly supervision which is reflective but provides clear direction and challenge and prevent drift and delay in the child’s journey.
- Provide management oversight on all cases which evidences understanding of risk.
- Quality assure the work of the team by a range of means including case file audit, DIP sampling, observations, and reflective supervision, and any other means as outlined in the quality assurance framework, and contribute to further developments of the framework.
- Manage effectively the workflow within social work case loads to ensure that children and young people’s needs are met appropriately within a timely manner.
- To have management oversight on strategy meetings, CP conferences and PLO meetings, ensuring the quality and timeliness are achieved.
