Duties:
- Assist the lead teacher in implementing educational activities and lesson plans
- Provide 1:1 support to students with special needs, including severe behaviour
- Help create a positive and inclusive learning environment
- Assist in managing classroom behavior and ensuring student safety
- Collaborate with the lead teacher to assess progress and provide feedback to parents/guardians
- Prepare individual materials and resources for classroom activities
- Supervise students during transitions, recess, and other non-instructional times
Qualifications:
- Experience working with children, particularly those with behaviour
- Knowledge of special education practices and strategies
- Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with students, parents/guardians, and colleagues
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with children
- Ability to follow directions and work as part of a team
