Job description

If you hear the word acoustics, do you instantly think music? How about cinemas, bowling alleys, gyms, HVAC, and generators … they all need noise and vibration solutions too! As our Technical Sales expert, you’ll be technically minded, but be able to build commercial credibility with Acousticians, Architects and Equipment Suppliers, to sell our bespoke Mechanical Building Acoustic solutions to the construction industry, equipment providers and OEM manufacturers. You’ll be home based earning uncapped commission!
BASIC SALARY: Up to £48,000 dependant on experience & qualifications

LOCATION: Home based role in the South / Midlands
COMMUTABLE LOCATIONS: We are flexible on your location as you will have to travel to customer sites.
You will likely live in the South or the East Midlands, maybe, Nottingham, Derby, Leicester, Northampton, Peterborough, Milton Keynes, Oxford, Reading, Watford etc.

JOB DESCRIPTION:Technical Sales, Sales Executive – Acoustic, Construction, HVAC, Building Services
We supply into the construction industry and building services companies, directly and through sub-contractors. Your leads will come from construction tenders, proactive business development, lead generation subscription, up-selling existing customers, and networking through your existing contacts.
Decision makers are varied, and include Acousticians, Quantity Surveyors, Site Managers, Project Managers, Architects, Equipment packagers, Suppliers and Manufacturers.
A basic off the shelf product ranges from £50 for an individual component and a full bespoke system could be worth £150,000.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITES:Technical Sales, Sales Executive – Acoustic, Construction, HVAC, Building Services
  • This is a home-based role, covering the UK but also with some overseas travel
  • Selling off the shelf products and / or bespoke mechanical solutions to the construction industry.
  • Develop your own sales strategy, targets, and forecasts with your Sales Manager.
  • Build accurate proposals – supported by an experienced, credible, and knowledgeable internal sales and Applications Engineers.
  • Attend internal sales meetings at our Southern site, 1-2 times a month.
  • It’s important that you can you build strong relationships with key stakeholders internally including supply-chain, production, and quality – initially you’ll spend more time with us on site while you’re doing product training.

YOUR EXPERIENCE:Technical Sales, Sales Executive – Acoustic, Construction, HVAC, Building Services
Ideally, you will have:
  • Proven B2B Technical Sales experience
  • Self-motivation – you’ll need to be comfortable working remotely and motivating yourself to be successful

If you have previously sold acoustic, noise, vibration or sound proofing (NVCE) related products or solutions into the construction industry, via Sub Contractors, Building Services or M&E contractors great, although we will look at any Technical Sales professionals that have sold an engineered product / solution B2B
QUALIFICATIONS:
You will likely have a Technical Sales background or maybe you have studied Sound Engineering or Building Services or hold a qualification in Acoustics. We will also consider practical technical experience too.
THE COMPANY:
We’re very well established, a trusted and respected brand name in our industry sector, cash rich and we own our UK manufacturing facility in the UK.
We produce steel and elastomer-based products largely related to vibration or acoustics; particularly around building acoustics, NVCE (Noise and Vibration Control Engineering) and vibration isolation systems.
We supply into the construction industry, power generation, building services and marine industry, worldwide.
It is highly likely you will have worked in any of the following roles and/or markets and worked with the following products and/or services: Product Sales, Applications Sales, Regional Sales Manager, Territory Sales Manager, Technical Sales Manager, Contracts Engineer, Proposals Engineer, tendering – noise, vibration, building acoustics, NVCE, HVAC, ducting, ductwork, mechanical, architectural, flooring, construction, building services.
