Temporary Accountant

Grafton Banks Finance are actively supporting an exciting business in Hailsham, who are looking for a temporary Accountant on an ongoing basis (with opportunity to be made temp–to–permanent). The role will be mainly focusing on accounts payable and credit control duties, but will have opportunity to take more on as the successful candidate grows into the role.

Duties will cover:

• Chasing customers for payments via phone/email
• Daily invoice postings
• Analysis of customer credit limits and responsibility for a portfolio of customers and keep average paying times and bad debts.
• Monitoring supplier accounts, ensuring invoices are paid correctly and on time.
• Allocating payments on a daily basis
• Bank reconciliations
• Processing cheques
• Preparing monthly payment runs
• Dealing with any finance related queries

The successful candidate will be:

• Available on immediate notice, able to start in the coming June weeks.
• Have prior experience working within a varied finance role, covering purchase ledger/accounts payable and credit control.
• Confident navigating Outlook packages such as Excel, Outlook, Teams and Word.
• AAT qualifications (desired, not essential)
