Our client, a key regulatory body, is looking for a part-time (21 hours per week) Finance Assistant on a temporary basis.
Working within the finance team to support and fulfil the needs of the organisation, this role is perfect for anyone looking to build on previous experience on a part-time basis.
The position is due to be for an initial 4 months, however this is variable depending on the needs of the team. The workdays for this position will be Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and will be entirely office based.
Duties within the role will include:
- Setting up payments for supplier invoices
- Recording accounting transactions in relevant ledgers
- Weekly bank reconciliation statements
- Preparing and submitting BACS payments as necessary to suppliers
- Monitoring team inbox and handling queries from staff, suppliers, and customers
- Assisting the Finance Executive and team as required
The successful candidate will have:
- A minimum of 2 years' experience working within a similar role (Accounts/Finance Assistant)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to use computerised accounting software as well as confidence in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
- Knowledge of VAT rules
- Attention to detail and accurate data entry
