An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Junior/Trainee Health, Safety and Quality (HSQ) Advisor to join a highly successful construction company in High Wycombe.
The ideal candidate will either be qualified to NEBOSH Certificate level (or other industry qualification) or working towards it. The company will consider applicants wanting to pursue a formal qualification as this position will offer further training, development, and support. We would also be open to applications from graduates keen to develop their career in health and safety.
The role is offered full time (08.30 - 17.30) based from the head office in High Wycombe, with occasional travel to projects in London and the South East.

Duties include
- To develop knowledge to provide advice to site staff in connection with health and safety related issues
- To learn how to successfully conduct site HSQE audits as per programme, report and follow-up on any actions
- To manage the HSQ induction process for new starters
- To liaise with the Facilities Co-Ordinator to ensure that H&S compliance is maintained at Head Office
- To understand the company's accreditations and coordinate applications / support any associated audits ensuring that standards are maintained
- To support the HSQE Director in the generation of submissions for external award schemes
- To compile reports relating to HSQ performance and where required present findings
- To support the HSQE Director in generating material in connection with HSQE campaigns (e.g. Newsletters, bulletins etc.)
- To support the HSQE Director in maintaining the Health, Safety and Quality Management Systems
- To support the HSQE Director in maintaining templates and forms required
Learning Opportunities
- To become a competent DSE assessor for the Company
- To assist the HSQE Director in the development and delivery of suitable in-house HSQE training to staff
- To develop in to a 'super user' of Fieldview HSQE File and aid in developing its use
- Be confident in representing and promote HSQE in meetings, workshops, management reviews and forums both internally and externally.
- To obtain Accident Investigation Certification to support the company in any accident investigations
- To obtain COSHH Assessor Certification to act as the focal point for COSHH assessments
Knowledge and Skills Required:
- An interest / understanding of health and safety in the workplace
- Enthusiastic and drive to pursue a career in health and safety
- Excellent Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word and PowerPoint)
- Ability to accurately maintain company databases and be confident in producing reports
- Good communication skills and ability to build relationships at all levels
Beneficial Skills:
- Hold a technical qualification (NEBOSH Diploma or other industry qualification) or working towards it
- Valid Accident Investigation certification
- Hold Internal Auditor certification (ISO45001 or ISO9001)
- Competent DSE Assessor
- Competent COSHH Assessor
- Hold a UK driving licence or in the process of learning to drive
