Reporting to the General Manager, you will take responsibility for 18 Drivers (static routes) and a Transport Supervisor. Working hours are Monday-Friday (day shift). Their customers range from huge multi-national household names to independently owned family businesses.
As Transport Manager, your responsibilities will include:
- Developing efficient routes to ensure timely delivery while minimising costs
- Overseeing the maintenance, operation, and management of the vehicle fleet
- Ensuring all activities comply with local, national, and international regulations
- Implementing and monitoring safety protocols to protect drivers, vehicles, cargo, and the public
- Controlling costs and managing budgets related to transportation activities
- Hiring, training, and supervising transportation personnel, including drivers and administrative staff
- Addressing customer inquiries and complaints, ensuring high levels of service quality.
- Utilising transportation management systems (TMS) and other technologies to optimise operations
- A CPC qualification
- A previous track record managing a similar size team
