Reporting Line:Deputy Group Treasury Director
Location:London, UK.
Job Purpose
To support the Group Treasury Director and Deputy Group Treasury Director in the management key Projects, Financial risks, and Treasury function. The candidate will be a Treasury professional who demonstrates excellent commercial awareness, technical knowledge, initiative, stakeholder management and solid relationship building qualities. This role will report directly to the Deputy Group Treasury Director and support in delivering the Treasury function’s objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- External Funding - to support the Treasury team on ongoing management of Group debt.
- Risk Management - Identify, assess, and develop strategies to manage the Group’s financial risks effectively. Including but not limited to foreign exchange, interest rate, liquidity, and counterparty risk.
- Centralisation of Group Cash – Management of the cash repatriation process including internal dividend process. Collaborate with the business to ensure we can upstream cash permanently where possible and review other cash management techniques for cash centralisation.
- Relationship Management - Work with the Group Treasury Director and Deputy Group Treasury Director to build and maintain relationships with key external and internal stakeholders.
- Treasury Operations - Work with the Group Treasury Director and Deputy Group Treasury Director to:
- Develop the operations of the Group’s In-House Bank – including providing insight and expertise to support the roll-out of liquidity initiatives including Virtual Accounts and ZBAs.
- Recommend and develop the Group’s cash management strategy including reviewing any global, regional, and country specific structures and making recommendations for future state.
- Oversee Treasury operational processes, make improvement recommendations and work with the GSC to ensure they are implemented in an effective and timely manner.
- Evaluate, plan and lead banking migrations as required.
- Collaborate with the GSC to ensure the Group’s Treasury Operations are controlled, effective and efficient.
- Provide cover for the daily debt management and Treasury dealing.
- Provide approval support on daily cash management processes.
- Business Unit Support - ensure that all business units are supported in all Treasury matters.Including managing the internal funding of Group entities in collaboration with Group Tax and the GSC.
- Policies & Procedures - work with the Deputy Group Treasury Director to ensure any Treasury policies and processes are documented.
- Reporting – support key reporting requirements for senior management including but not limited to the Monthly Treasury Report, Board & CFO reports, Cash & Debt reports, Treasury KPIs and ad hoc reports.
- Treasury Systems and Innovation - Ensure the Treasury function is continuously improving and utilising new technology that is beneficial to the Group. Support the ongoing implementation of a Global SwiftNet solution in over 100 countries and a business intelligence platform. Ensure the Group’s Treasury applications are optimised which include Enterprise Payments, Payment Orchestration, Treasury Management System, eTrading platform and any other associated systems.
- Team Management - Manage and support the development of the Treasury Analyst.
Required Skills, Experience & Qualifications
- Degree educated
- Accountancy qualification (ACA or ACCA) and/or AMCT qualified or working towards the qualification
- Minimum 3-5 years global corporate treasury experience in a multi-country organisation
- A collaborative mindset, able to work across multiple teams both internally and externally
- Previous team management experience is advantageous
- Self-starter with the ability to work under pressure to multiple tight deadlines
- A proven track record in Treasury Project Management and Treasury Management Systems experience
- An inquisitive and creative mindset with proven track record of delivering change
