Job Introduction

What you’ll do
As the Performance and Compliance Lead you will be responsible for ensuring all NHG’s general needs lettings are done quickly, safely and compliantly.  Managing the voids and lettings coordinators you will oversee a team who drive the lettings process from on notice to creation of the tenancy.   You and your team will need to work closely with the housing management teams and voids team ensuring we are meeting re let targets.  We will expect you and your team to build relationship with key external stakeholders.   As well as voids and lettings your team will also be responsible for ensuring subject access requests are completed, as well as other day to day administrative tasks and ad hoc requirements.   You will also need to work closely with our central data, Performance and insight teams to ensure the reporting requirements enable the wider core operations team to do their jobs, as well as producing ad hoc reports when required. 
How you’ll do it
Using your knowledge of general needs lettings and any previous management experience you will motivate, lead and manage your team to provide a service to the core operational housing management teams.  
Using your previous experience of building relationships, you will build working relationships with the core operational housing management teams and the voids team to ensure everyone is working towards the same goal of letting our homes quickly, safely and compliantly.
Using your previous experience of working with local authorities you will develop relationships with our key boroughs and ensure NHG is compliant with any nomination’s agreements, and other adhoc service level agreements we have signed.
Having a keen eye for detail and an awareness of our policies and procedures you will train your team and others to ensure we are always working in a compliant way when it comes to lettings, including mutual exchanges, transfers, succession etc. 
Using your excel skills and other similar software you will produce timely reports for the managing directors, assistant directors or heads of service when requested, and feeding into the future performance reporting work plan via the performance team.
Using your organisational skills you will manage your team of regional administrators to provide holistic administrative support to the core operational housing and leasehold teams.
 
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone who owns their own work, and that of their team.  Someone who can see the bigger picture and can work successfully with others to influence decisions for the benefit of NHG and it’s residents.   Someone who has great organisational skills, and can keep on top of deadlines, and ensure their team can too.
The ideal candidate for this role will be someone who has experience of end to end general needs lettings.  A proven track record of managing others to achieve a shared goal when it comes to lettings is essential.  Line management of others is desirable but not essential.
 
Essential:
  • Demonstrated experience of performance monitoring, benchmarking and target setting.
  • Experience of preparing and presenting complex information to different audiences.
  • Advanced experience in excel, proficiency in full Office 365 suite. 
  • Proven experience of data assurance and interrogation.
  • Track record of successful staff development and management of others.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English, including effective report-writing for senior leaders.
  • Effective workload management in a flexible and adaptable manner.
  • High emotional intelligence and composure under pressure, with a mature and flexible approach.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, fostering effective collaborations.
  • Strong organisational, time, and resource management capabilities.
  • Passion for maintaining excellent customer service standards and evidence of service improvement achievements.
  • Ability to react promptly to changing priorities and adeptness in diplomacy, negotiation, and political sensitivity.
  • Awareness pf financial and budget management skills.
