My client is a leading telecommunications provider and they re on the lookout for a VoIP Engineer to join their growing team.
They are committed to delivering high-quality communication solutions to their clients, ensuring seamless connectivity and exceptional customer experiences.
As a VoIP Engineer, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and optimising their VoIP infrastructure to ensure superior call quality and reliability for their clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Designing, implementing, and maintaining VoIP systems and solutions.
- Investigating call setup and signalling issues to identify and resolve technical problems promptly.
- Performing packet inspection using tools such as Wireshark to troubleshoot and analyse network traffic.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to address network-related issues and optimise system performance.
- Developing and documenting best practices, procedures, and guidelines for VoIP system administration.
- Providing technical expertise and support to junior engineers and team members.
Key Skills and Qualifications:
- Proven experience working with VoIP technologies and protocols, including SIP.
- Strong understanding of call setup processes and signalling protocols.
- Solid understanding of network protocols and configurations.
- Proficiency in packet inspection tools such as Wireshark or similar.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with VoIP security protocols and best practices.
- Familiarity with session border controllers (SBCs) and VoIP gateways.
- Knowledge of QoS (Quality of Service) principles and techniques.
