An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Ward Clinical Administrator to support the Ward Manager and Band 6 Nurses on a number of wards at Fairfield General Hospital, providing administrative support and office management.
We are looking for candidates who are conscientious, highly motivated, have a flexible approach and are able to work as part of the team.
Main duties of the job
Act as first point of contact for all communication for the ward manager, dealing with communications appropriately.
Communicate professionally and effectively with Senior Management, clinicians and colleagues internally and externally.
Assist the Ward Manager and senior ward nurses in roster planning, annual leave, sickness and absence management.
Work in a self- directed manner to progress aspects of the Ward Managers actions that do not require their direct involvement.
Take responsibility for planning and prioritising of own workload, ensuring that requirements are met.

Qualifications
Essential criteria
- GCSE (English / Maths) or equivalant
- RSA 3 or equivalent qualification or equivalent demonstrable skills
Desirable criteria
- Certificate in Medical Secretarial Studies or similar
Skills. Abilities

Desirable criteria
- Ability to work quickly and accurately, using own initiative in relaying complex medical information.
Experience
Essential criteria
- Previous experience of working as a PA/ medical secretary or ward clerk
- Use of Microsoft Office / Teams

- Experience of minute taking
