Our team have a wealth of experience in the automotive sector with a specialist focus on remanufactured brake calipers, relined brake shoes and steering boxes for commercial vehicles.

About the role

We currently have a vacancy to join our team for a Warehouse, Dispatch and Yard Operative who will be responsible for contributing to the smooth running of the Warehouse Dispatch and Yard areas within our busy manufacturing site.

You will ensure the safe and efficient receipt, storage and dispatch of warehouse materials, goods in and products, to feed business operations and customer demand. You will also prepare components for shoe and caliper strippers/builders in advance of production requirements. Key responsibilities are:

• To fulfil customer orders from warehouse and stock, picking lists, production kit build requests and invoices for customers ensuring these are accurately and appropriately dispatched internally and externally.
• From issued production schedule, issue core to caliper and brake shoe strippers in advance of stripping schedule.
• From issued production schedule, assemble kit of parts for caliper and brake shoe builders in advance of build requirements
• Carry out appropriate goods-in activities, products are booked in in a timely manner, and goods are dispatched appropriately and in line with requirements of the business.
• To store products appropriately in accordance with the warehouse layout, bin location and part numbering system.
• Check for damaged and missing items and escalate to the Warehouse Team Leader where appropriate.
• Accurately complete picking sheets, conducting transactions on the ERP system.
• Ensure product quality is to the highest standard and upon inspection, raise issues to the Warehouse Team Leader, rejecting, holding or quarantining any affected product pending further quality checks and sign off.
• Provide support to the Production team when product is returned from the customer, locating any necessary warranty/build card or kit pick lists associated with the finished item and making the goods available and ready for further inspection.
• Keep accurate records of stock, ensuring a high pass rate of any spot checks and perpetual inventory checks using the appropriate ERP system.
• Operate all equipment in a safe manner complying with all health, safety, and environmental requirements and training, to ensure own and others’ safety.
• Carry out tasks within Yard area, including but not limited to receiving goods-in and placing them in correct areas, sort pallets and ensure they are kept in good condition, ensure old unit rotation is followed.
• To take pride in the workplace, keeping areas of work clean and tidy to ensure operational efficiency.
• Contribute to continuous improvement, making recommendations for efficiency and adding value.

About You

You will ideally hold a valid FLT licence and have previous experience of working within a busy warehouse environment.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: £11.48 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week

Schedule:

• Day shift
• Monday to Friday
• No weekends

Experience:

• Warehouse: 1 year (preferred)
