Job description
Deliver a programme of activities in line with the project outcomes that enhance the opportunity for young people to gain new knowledge and experience across five outcome areas. Promote the Heroes plus project within agreed localities and recruit young people to participate. Provide direct support to young people engaging with the Heroes plus project, communicating with them in an open, friendly and professional manner. Work closely with the youth services team to ensure that resources within the agreed locality are effectively deployed and young people have the appropriate support to access project activities. Gather and feed back information to assist with monitoring of young people’s individual progress and learning outcomes and evaluation of project activity. Complete information reports against project targets and outcomes using agreed processes and timeframes. Contribute to the development of CAN’s youth work knowledge and practice and to the strategic development of programmes of work with young people. .

Experience in the delivery of youth work programmes and interventions An understanding of the barriers facing young people with learning disabilities and autism when engaging in youth provision Have completed or working towards the completion of relevant degrees in youth work, community work/development. education or equivalentOr have a minimum of 3 years experience in leading and delivering youth/community based projects and an OCN Level 2/3 in a relevant field
