Job description

Dennison Commercials Ltd is the sole Volvo Truck & Bus dealer and the leading provider of heavy commercial vehicles in Northern Ireland.  Our business offers new and used Volvo truck and bus sales, rental trucks and all aftermarket services, including all aspects of service, repair and parts provision.  Encompassing Dennison JCB, we are also the official JCB dealer for construction, industrial and access equipment and generators in Northern Ireland and Donegal.

Role Overview

The successful candidate will join an existing accounts team based at our Headquarters in Ballyclare and involves responsibility for a range of duties as outlined below. 

This is a full time position working 37.5 hours per week with flexibility required to meet deadlines as applicable.

About The Role

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

·         Manage Accounts Payable process: Process supplier invoices, compile monthly supplier payment runs, reconcile supplier statements etc

·         Processing interdepartmental invoices and allocation to cost centres

·         Analysis and preparation of employee expenses

·         Compilation of monthly KPI’s to enable decision making

·         Preparation and posting of journals at month end, including accruals and prepayments

·         Maintenance of Fixed Asset Register

·         Preparation and submission of VAT returns

·         Meeting month end deadlines

·         Assisting with preparation of monthly management accounts

·         Stock reconciliations and assisting in stock control and reporting

·         Monthly balance sheet reconciliations

·         Ad hoc duties commensurate with the position and providing support to accounts team as required

Job Measurement Data:

-     Undertake the job competently and professionally

-     Use working time efficiently and effectively

-     Be pro-active and identify areas for improvement in processes and work methods where applicable

-     Provide information promptly to assist with profitability and cashflow

-     Identify any potential problems or issues and advise on them accordingly in a timely fashion

 

Required Criteria

  • Be part qualified or qualified (IATI, CIMA, ACCA, ACA or equivalent)
  • Possess previous experience of the aforementioned key duties and responsibilities (experience of preparing management accounts, stock reconciliations and balance sheet reconciliations is highly desirable but not essential)
  • Possess excellent general IT skills including advanced level experience of Microsoft Excel (regular use of pivot tables, V look-ups, advanced formulae)
  • Have previous experience of using accounts packages
  • Be self motivated and enthusiastic
  • Be of a questioning and investigative nature possessing strong critical thinking and analytical skills
  • Have excellent communication skills and the ability to communicate and liaise well with staff at all levels across the business
  • Possess a proactive and flexible working approach to meet the needs of the business
  • Have the ability and willingness to work as part of a team
  • Have the ability to pay attention to detail and solve problems efficiently
  • Have the drive and determination to complete work efficiently on time
  • Have strong organisational and prioritisation skills and an ability to structure work load efficiently
  • Be willing to accept change and have the ability and flexibility to adapt accordingly as business needs require
