Key responsibilities for the Accounts Assistant role:
- Responsible for ensuring daily ledger integrity and implementing controls
- Assisting the wider team with queries on daily transactions and posting into systems
- Responsible for petty cash management
- Providing daily revenue figures to senior management
- Reconciling payments on a daily basis and resolving any discrepancies
- Intercompany matrix journals
- Ensuring VAT is posted correctly and assistance with VAT returns
- Responsible for prepayments
- Assist sales ledger and purchase ledger, if required
- Monthly bank accounts reconciliation
- Month end accounts and balance sheet reconciliation
- Supporting the Head of Finance with ad hoc reporting as required.
Required knowledge and experience for the Accounts Assistant role:
- Ideally studying AAT - study support will be provided.
- Experience within transactional accounts roles with strong reconciliation skills, preferably within a business with a large volume of transactions.
- Intermediate Excel skills (experience of VLookups and Pivot Tables)
