Accounts Payable Assistant

My client, a leading provider of Global Payment, FX and Fintech solutions are seeking an Accounts Payable Assistant to join their Finance team, a new role created due to our company’s continued growth. This position offers a blend of Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable responsibilities, with the opportunity for exposure to the wider Finance function. Please note - this will role is a temp to perm opportunity, with an initial 2-3 months temporary with the view of going permanent at a £30,000 - £35,000 salary banding. 

Day-to-day of the role:
Perform bank reconciliations for company expenses and client invoice payments.
Allocate payments and receipts to purchase and sales invoices.
Monitor the automated invoice processing tool for accuracy in postings.
Prepare payment runs for suppliers and maintain the Accounts Payable ledger.
Manage the staff expenses process, including approving spend requests, managing budgets, and ensuring policy compliance.
Monitor the Zendesk finance inbox, allocating tasks to team members.
Gain experience in calculating invoices for clients, affiliate commission, and sales commission.

Required Skills & Qualifications:
Experience in an Accounts Payable or Accounts Receivable function with a solid understanding of debits, credits, and double-entry accounting.
Ability to work well within a team and independently.
A degree in Accounting or a numerically based subject, or has started an accounting qualification.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office products.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
A collaborative approach to working with others and a commitment to an inclusive environment.
Excellent interpersonal skills.
