ABOUT THE ROLE
This is an exciting opportunity to join the Research Books Content Strategy & Acquisition team as part of a team of three Administrative Assistants.
In this role you’ll be responsible for providing day to day administrative and editorial support to the Heads of Acquisition. Reporting to the Senior Administrator you will oversee the smooth running of each publishing group, working collaboratively with colleagues within each team and the wider business, to make administration practices more efficient and effective. You will also work closely with Acquisition Editors, taking on select editorial tasks.
Some of the key responsibilities include:
- Provide meeting support, including scheduling, issuing agendas, managing related correspondence, and minute taking.
- Copy-edit and proofread/quality control Delegates meeting papers.
- Assist the Heads of Acquisition and acquisitions editors with ad hoc administrative and editorial tasks.
- Select peer review support, including author outreach.
- Assume responsibility for data management, coordination, and reporting within each publishing group and across the wider business.
- Work collaboratively and productively with other functional groups to help streamline cross-functional ways of working.
- Undertake project work as required.
We operate a hybrid working policy that requires a minimum of 2 days per week in the Oxford office.
ABOUT YOU
You’ll be a highly organised individual who is comfortable working on your own initiative as well as within a larger team.
The successful candidate will demonstrate the following skills and experiences:
- Excellent proofreading and research skills.
- Self-motivated, proactive, detail-oriented, receptive to feedback and learns quickly.
- Excellent organizational, time management, and project-management skills.
- Ability to balance a wide range of responsibilities/projects and manage time effectively to meet deadlines.
- Highly literate and numerate, with strong oral and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office packages, especially Word, Outlook and Excel, with an aptitude for picking up new systems quickly.
- Able to work quickly, accurately, and diplomatically under pressure.
- Able to work efficiently and effectively in both virtual and non-virtual environments.
