An opportunity has arisen for two full time positions within the Appointeeships Team based at the Museum and Library building in Newport.
What is an Appointee?
An Appointee is someone who is appointed by the Department of Work and Pensions to exercise on behalf of vulnerable adult’s, who lack mental capacity, to legally manage their state benefits and pensions.
This is a key post within the team, providing comprehensive support to the Service Support Manager /Corporate Appointee, in the field of Appointeeships. You will be required to assist the Service Support Manager to discharge his responsibilities as the nominated representative for Newport City Council.
You must possess a minimum of 5 GCSE’s or equivalent and have at least three years’ experience of working within social care and in a financial and office environment. You must also be able to demonstrate considerable experience in using Databases, spreadsheets and processing financial data and information.
The successful candidate will need to possess excellent inter- personal skills and be able to deal directly with citizens who use the service. Patience, understanding and empathy is a key attribute.
