Acorn Insurance are currently recruiting for a talented Assistant Management Accountant to join our brilliant finance team in our Formby office! As an Assistant Management Accountant you will need to have a strong desire to learn and develop to dive in to new challenges within a growing business, supporting the finance department and management team within this role.
Role: Assistant Management Accountant
Location: Formby, Liverpool
Working hours: Monday to Friday, 9am to 5:30pm
Salary: Up to £28,000 DOE
What you will be doing:
- Assist in the production of the monthly management accounts within agreed timescales as set out within the team’s objectives. Including but not limited to the following:
- Assist in the production of monthly bordereaux for insurers specified by management
- Reconciling and posting of Insurer payments
- Responsibility for production and distribution of daily reports
- Provide support with the implementation of accounting procedures and monthly balance sheet controls
- Production of quarterly VAT return reports and workings in preparation for completion by Management Accountant
- Support the Management Accountant with statutory audit requests
- Support with transactional finance functions
- Variance analysis
- Supporting ad hoc projects as well as always looking to improve processes and controls
- Undertake any other duties as reasonably required
What we’re looking for:
- AAT qualified or actively studying towards CIMA/ACCA
- Works with fellow team members to ensure a stable and friendly team spirit and professional environment.

- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and procedures
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
