Key Duties & Responsibilities:
- Communicate effectively with clients, keeping them informed of affairs and tax liabilities.
- Identify tax planning opportunities and additional services for clients.
- Ensure compliance with statutory deadlines and billing targets.
- Set and adhere to budgets, minimizing unexpected write-offs.
- Obtain client approval before proceeding with additional work.
- Monitor financial exposure and outstanding debts, taking appropriate actions.
- Manage client workflow in accordance with firm procedures.
- Plan and execute accounts preparation tasks, including auditing, corporation tax returns, annual returns, and regulatory filings.
- Ensure timely completion of all HMRC returns.
- Handle Director's, Partner's, or Sole Trader's tax returns for the business client portfolio.
- Undertake ad hoc tasks, including profit and cash flow forecasting, management accounts, valuations, and due diligence work.
- Perform all duties in compliance with the Firm's Staff Handbook and Procedures Manual.
- Assist with team development and support team members as needed.
- Collaborate with partners to propose strategic ideas, attract new clients, and contribute to team recruitment.
Experience and Skills Required:
- ACA, ACCA, or CA qualification.
- 3-4 years of PQE experience.
- Previous experience managing a client fee portfolio of approximately £150K or more.
- Strong knowledge of auditing and accounting practices and principles.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and accounting software (CaseWare, Xero, Sage, QuickBooks).
- Excellent professional communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Strong interpersonal skills for effective interaction at all organizational levels, internally and externally.
