Behavioural Support Assistant (Semh)

Masterclass Education are working closely with an SEMH school who are in current requirement of Behavioural Support Assistants to work and aid students with SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) needs.

Our specialist SEN / SEMH team are currently looking for dedicated, reliable, and willing candidates to place within the vacancy.

As a Behavioural Support Assistant, you are expected to support students with social emotional and mental health needs. You will need to be able to build a strong and a trusting relationship, support them with their schoolwork but also be the someone that they can talk to if they need to.

Direct experience working within schools is not required however it is preferred; inexperienced candidates will be considered dependant on transferrable skills.

Masterclass Education provide CPD recognised online training, covering subjects such as Safeguarding, Autism Awareness, Understanding Child Development, Violence Reduction, and more, to all our candidates.

The ideal candidate would need to start as soon as they can.

Job role:

• To support the children’s development across all areas of their development
• Support and encourage positive behaviour management
• Work with an individual (1-1) to support the class teacher in specific lessons
• Ensure a safe and secure environment enabling pupils to feel relaxed and happy
• To establish positive relationships with the children and staff within the school
• To be committed to inclusive practice and making sure every child has the chance to be the best they can be
• To be able to provide personal care if needed
