SalaryVacancy for a Caretaker - Chancel Primary School
We are looking to recruit a Caretaker, to manage and maintain our school premises, ensuring they are clean, secure, safe and well maintained. Start date will be July 2024, when a handover with our current Caretaker (who is retiring), can be completed.
This role is full year, working 22 hours per week (exact timings to be agreed), FTE £25,119.
Main duties:
Managing a small team of cleaners (including ordering materials).
Locking/unlocking the buildings, as required.
Ensuring all plant and equipment is maintained to the required standard.
General maintenance and repairs, including grounds maintenance.
Assisting with the organisation of school refurbishments.
Porterage around the school sites.
Monitoring the premises for any hazards, carrying out repairs or reporting problems, where necessary.
Co-operating on all issues involving health and safety, including completion of Health & Safety checks – in line with legislation.
Carry out risk assessments.
Maintain appropriate record keeping.
Respond to emergency call outs and take action, as required.
Supervision of contractors.
Sweeping/salting and keeping clear school footpaths and car parks.
Litter collection around the school sites.
Any other duties that may be required.
This role requires significant periods of lone working and as such, the postholder will need to display a high degree of responsibility and professionalism in their work. The ability to use own initiative is essential.
