The Willow Tea Rooms is a long established, Mackintosh inspired, tea rooms and gift shop that is currently located in Glasgow city centre. We are opening our second branch of this business in February 2024
.The Willow Tea Rooms will be located on Princes Street in Edinburgh with a 120 seat capacity. Our venue will be opened to the public for breakfast, lunch and afternoon tea (please see our website for menus) with potential for private functions in the evenings.
The main focus of our business is our bakery where all of our cakes are made daily in house, supplying our established afternoon tea trade. We will have a small gift shop on the ground floor that will be stocked with Scottish and Mackintosh gifting. We project that a large proportion of our customers will be tourists seeking Scottish food and to dine in a central location (our venue on Princes Street has excellent view of the castle),
We are seeking a skilled Line Cook to join our team. As a Line Cook, you will be responsible for preparing food items according to our recipes and guidelines. Your role will be crucial in ensuring that our customers receive high-quality meals that are both delicious and visually appealing.
Responsibilities: - Prepare ingredients for cooking, including chopping vegetables, cutting meat. - Cook food items according to recipes and guidelines - Ensure that all food is cooked to the appropriate temperature and is safe for consumption - Plate and garnish dishes with precision and attention to detail - Maintain a clean and organized work station - Assist with meal preparation during busy periods - Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations
Skills: - Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques and culinary terminology - Previous experience working in a restaurant or similar fast-paced environment - Familiarity with food safety regulations and best practices - Ability to work well under pressure and in a team-oriented setting - Excellent time management skills to ensure timely delivery of meals - Attention to detail to ensure accurate portioning and plating of dishes - Flexibility to adapt to changing menus and customer preferences

· Share of our Tronc/gratuity system (made up of our discretionary 10% service charge).
· Predominantly day time only work. The tea rooms will be opened from 9am – 6pm. Evening
work only required for private functions.
· Full time position working five days out of seven.
