Position - Chief Operations Officer

Salary - £55,000 per annum, pro rata

Location - Newham, East London

Type - Mostly office-based. 35 hours per week

Description

We are looking for a Chief Operations Officer to work alongside our Artistic Director in the restructuring of our management team.  The Chief Operations Officer will take a lead in reshaping the organisation and management systems, as well as identifying and developing new income streams which will continue to deliver excellence in the creative arts.

The Chief Operations Office reports to Applecart’s CEO and Artistic Director and works closely with him and the finance officer in fulfilling the below Main Duties.

Main Duties

• Execute business strategy and developing new income streams
• Liaise and build rapport with funding and business partners
• Financial operations and budget development
• Staff structure, recruitment and hiring

• Experience in developing new income streams and funding partnerships.
• The ability to shape and deliver strategy - to think and work strategically, whilst ensuring plans translate into high-quality services.
• Experience of leading and managing change in an organisation.
• Excellent leadership and people skills - to work effectively with a diverse range of people within Applecart, local communities, schools, universities, local authorities, and beyond, to influence and bring out real opportunities in the creative and education industries.
• Effective administrative, project, financial management and communication skills. 
• Understanding the challenges and opportunities facing the creative arts and the education sectors in an urban context, including the role of infrastructure organisations in promoting equity, inclusion, and diversity.
• Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, finance, or proven experience in a related field required.
• Affinity with and commitment to Applecart's Core Belief, Mission and Vision Statements.
