Summary
We are looking for an experienced Claims Handler for our client, a reputable property repairs contractor in the Watford area. You will be responsible for coordinating repairs to residential properties following an insurance claim. You will be liaising between the policyholder, insurance company, surveyor, contracts manager and the repair network, ensuring the claim is processed as smoothly as possible.
This role may also suit someone with desktop scheduling / scoping experience, or a surveyor who is looking for an office-based role.
Job role and responsibilities
As a Claims Handler / Repairs Scheduler your role will include:
- Ensuring claims are managed from initial notification through to completion
- Speaking to the policyholder and preparing files/reports for each job
- Preparing a scope / schedule of works from the surveyor’s information
- Coordinating the surveyor or relevant tradesmen/contractor to attend site
- Liaising with the customer/policyholder and relevant third parties by telephone & email
- Ensuring databases are maintained accurately and claim progress is recorded
What skills/experience will you need?
- Experience of coordinating property repairs, following an insurance claim is ideal
- Experience of inputting scopes on Symbility, Synergy or similar system
- Confident communication skills
- Good IT skills, including Word, Excel
Package details
- The salary will £28,000 - £38,000 (depending upon experience)
- Working hours are 9.0am to 5.00pm (office based)
- 28 days (inc Bank Holidays)
- 3pm finish every other Friday
- The office is reached easily by train
- Free on-site parking
