This role is a perfect for an accomplished Company Accountant, who’s thrives off the fast-pace of an SME environment and loves operating as a key advisor to the business owner.
I look at this a phenomenal opportunity for someone driven, keen to enhance their skillset, with the ambition to progress into a more senior role in the future. The FD will be retiring in the next 2 years, this is a guarantee, so what we’re looking for is someone who wants that next step in their career.
The succession plan lays the ground work for you to totally integrate into the business, learn the intricacies of the accounts and operation, then when totally confident you will assume FD status and recruit your back-fill.
The business is currently running circa £7million t/o with a fantastic reputation within their field for their service. Stable, profitable and with all the structures in place to ensure a long-term, lucrative career for whoever comes into his role.
You’ll have full ownership and responsibility of the company accounts, using XERO software for all accounts production and reporting.
Primary duties will include:
- Preparation of monthly managements accounts reporting to MD/board
- Cashflow management and forecasting.
- Balance sheet reconciliations.
- Vat return preparation, filing and reconciliation.
- Accounts payable and receivables management.
- Weekly and monthly payroll, including overtime, bonuses and pension contributions where necessary.
On your profile, we’re looking for someone who has operated at a similar level, within an SME environment, someone who is at least AAT qualified with total confidence with all aspects of accounting, from a transactional level right up to MI reporting.
