Fusion people are actively recruiting for a Contracts Manager overseeing fire door & fire stopping works across the Midlands on a permanent basis for our busy refurb client based in Walsall.
Our client have an exciting opportunity for a Contracts Manager working on the fire prevention side of the business to support the Operations Team based out of their Walsall office. You will be responsible for the day to day management of current and future fire stopping contracts. The ideal candidate will have a sharp commercial mind, robust safety and compliance awareness and proven success in managing multiple projects. You will help maintain and build strong relationships with the business Operations and their Client Base.
The role will be based in their Walsall Head Office and will come with a company vehicle and fuel card to support work travel when it is required.
Salary expectations up to £45,000.
Responsibilities will include:
- Preparing tenders for clients and commercial bids to help bring in new business
- Developing and presenting project proposals
- Meeting with clients to find out their requirements
- Producing plans and estimating budgets and timescales
- Discussing, drafting, reviewing and negotiating the terms of business contracts
- Agreeing budgets and timescales with the clients
- Managing construction schedules and budgets
- Dealing with any unexpected costs
- Attending site meetings to monitor progress
- Acting as the main point of contact for clients, site and project managers
- Working with third parties to ensure that everyone understands their roles and responsibilities
- Making sure construction projects meet agreed technical standards
- Liaising with technical and financial staff, sub-contractors, and the client’s own representatives
- Overseeing invoicing at the end of a project
- Working on-site and in an office.
Experience/Knowledge Required:
- FIRAS Certification/Experience would be advantageous.
- Construction Management NVQ 6.
- Three or more years of proven success in a similar role.
- Excellent ability to lead teams and organise team.
- Proficiency in conflict management and business negotiation processes.
- Strong IT skills (Using Excel; Outlook; Compliance Software Programmes).
