A Credit Control role where the emphasis is on relationship building rather than “debt collecting?” Well, here it is!

This role goes completely against the stereotypical vision of a Credit Controller – the FD even said to me “we don’t expect a bulldog, we don’t need aggression!”

The reason they don’t need this profile is because 90% of the time, their customers pay on time – it’s more about keeping the ledger tidy, the aged-debt is so minimal – it’s a case of keeping on top of this; and for this, it requires someone with exemplary customer service.

The ledger isn’t massive, but the customers are nationwide, so it’s more about managing Key Accounts – and with those come complexities and intricacies, it’s all about attention to detail and being able to spot discrepancies to prevent late payment rather than having to just chase, chase, chase!

The FD will allow you complete autonomy to manage the Credit Control function as you see fit – no breathing down your neck, no checking to see where you’re at with an invoice, he’ll leave it up to you to update him!
