Crypto Market Analyst

A Crypto Market Analyst is required to join a leading quantitative hedge fund in the cryptocurrency space, utilising high-frequency trading techniques to deliver exceptional Market Making services. We partner with ground-breaking cryptocurrency projects globally, operating seamlessly across on- and off-chain exchanges.

Position Overview: We are seeking a dynamic Investment Associate/Investment Lead to join our Incubation Team. This role is crucial in recruiting, signing and working with top Web3 teams for our incubation programs. You will assess our deal flow pipeline, meet with founders, conduct due diligence, and engage in early-stage ventures. Your work will help shape the future of Web3 through strategic investments and active involvement with innovative startups.

Key Responsibilities:

• Investment Analysis and Strategy:
• Develop sharp investment perspectives on categories and companies, justifying investments with a clear understanding of disruptive market technology trends.
• Conduct comprehensive due diligence on accelerator applicants, evaluating their team, products, technologies, go-to-market plans, competitive positions, and addressable markets.
• Maintain a clear understanding of market trends, develop market maps, and target potential investment opportunities.
• Program and Deal Flow Management:
• Oversee customer onboarding activities, including preparing investment materials, running investment committees, and managing contract negotiations and team signings.
• Manage relationships with prospective founders, ensuring they understand our value proposition and experience seamless communication throughout the recruitment cycle.
• Lead the development of a top-tier investment team capable of attracting, closing and working top Web3 founders.
• Collaboration and Thesis Development:
• Work closely with the Head of Incubation and experts (Product and Engineering, Fundraising, Token Economics, GTM, Marketing, Community, Partnerships and Token Launch Strategy and more).
• Support the development of investment theses with senior management.
• Market Research and Sector Competency:
• Oversee market research activities, ensuring the development of core competencies across Web3 sectors (DeFi, DePin, AI, GameFi, RWA, infrastructure, NFTs).
• Support market research to enable informed investment decisions and targeted outreach.
• Startup Support and Strategy:
• Work alongside startups to deliver success for Web3 startups annually.
• Assist with market research, business strategy, fundraising strategy, and core material creation for pre-seed/seed and pre-sale startups.
• Build networks and enable cohort growth and excellence.

We Are Looking For Someone Who:

• Experience and Expertise:
• Has 2-5 years of investment experience within Web3 (preferably early stage), including financial modelling, diligence, valuation, go-to-market strategy and making investment recommendations.
• Possesses a solid understanding of Web3, crypto, and blockchain concepts and ecosystems.
• Skills and Abilities:
• Demonstrates genuine intellectual curiosity and the ability to learn and explain new concepts quickly.
• Can synthesize complex information, form sharp viewpoints, and communicate them clearly.
• Is comfortable building conviction based on both qualitative and quantitative data.
• Attributes and Mindset:
• Highly motivated and capable of managing both routine and complex tasks.
• Strong network in the Web3 Space
• A self-starter comfortable with minimal direction and high expectations.
