Job description

Brook Street Ltd are pleased to announce a readily available position in central Southampton, within our client part of public sector organisation as an Administrator. The role is based on a part-time, temporary contract, Monday-Friday at an hourly rate of £11.72.

The HR Reporting & Data Analyst will enable the delivery of HR Management Information through data visualisation and analysis, supporting data-driven decision making and improvements. Compiling reports and returns to internal and external stakeholders. Providing high-quality analysis and reporting on a range of HR data.

  • Act as point of contact for delivering HR Management Information (MI) requests as instructed, using technical knowledge and data manipulation/reporting skills to produce regular and ad-hoc reports
  • Support the design, development, and maintenance of a People MI Suite, utilising Power BI, and other tools.
  • Validate, improve, and innovate on the MCA use of analytical tools and techniques for HR data, using automation, where possible
  • Support the delivery of visualisation and analytical projects that assist in solving organisational problems and create valuable insights. Assisting the design and maintenance of tools and metrics to assess outcomes of HR and business initiatives
  • Work with stakeholders to identify and clarify the scope and requirements of analytical work
  • Timely preparation and publication of external workforce related data, including data commissions from Cabinet Office and others, requests under the Freedom of Information Act, parliamentary questions, and ministerial correspondence
  • Work with colleagues across the MCA to identify and share best practice in delivering high quality analysis and reporting
  • Prepare and utilise HR data to determine trends, correlations, and other statistical information. Providing meaningful insights into trends and underlying causes through the production, interrogation, and analysis of multiple HR data sets
  • Continually review existing data sources to ensure the most accurate and relevant information is being gathered
  • Identify opportunities for new data sources, both internal and external to support data-driven decision making.
  • Provide ad-hoc support to the wider HR team, to include interviewing, generalist queries, cross-skilling, and budget management

Typical qualifications and experience:

  • Five GCSE passes at Grade C or above
  • Experience in preparing data for analytical use including data manipulation, blending, transformation and cleaning.
  • Experience in translating data into clear, understandable charts, and visualisations, with tools including Power BI, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate complex analysis to non-specialists.

Part-time: 20 hrs / week

Length of assignment: temporary on-going assignment, until 30/11/24

Location: Spring Place, Southampton, SO15 1EG (5 minutes from Southampton central)
