JOB DESCRIPTION

Want to drive and develop exciting technology to power next generation banking solutions for businesses?

Out of the successful launch of Chase in 2021, we’re a new team, with a new mission. We’re creating products that solve real world problems and put customers at the center - all in an environment that nurtures skills and helps you realize your potential. Our team is key to our success. We’re people-first. We value collaboration, curiosity and commitment.

As a Vice President at JPMorgan Chase within the Data Governance and Operations team, you are the heart of this venture, focused on getting smart ideas into the hands of our customers. This critical role has been established to define our data strategy and to support the consumption and use of data.

Who you are

You have a curious mindset, thrive in collaborative squads, and are passionate about new technology. By your nature, you are also solution-oriented, commercially savvy and interested in fintech. You thrive working in tribes and squads that focus on specific products and projects – and depending on your strengths and interests, you'll have the opportunity to move among them.

While we’re looking for professional skills, culture is just as important to us. We understand that everyone's unique – and that diversity of thought, experience and background is what makes a good team great. By bringing people with different points of view together, we can represent everyone and truly reflect the communities we serve. This way, there's scope for you to make a huge difference – on us as a company, and on our clients and business partners around the world.

Job responsibilities:

  • Formulate and implement a Data Management strategy and framework to manage data throughout its lifecycle aligned with the company’s business objectives
  • Oversee the design and implementation of Data Management policies and procedures to ensure data integrity, security, and compliance
  • Direct the development and maintenance of data dictionaries, and define data standards, policies, and procedures
  • Partner with technology and business teams on designing the end-to-end data and technical architecture
  • Design and execute data controls to ensure effectiveness of defined processes and metrics, and define course correction plans when needed
  • Identify data risks and issues and work in collaboration with various stakeholders to formulate mitigation and risk management plans
  • Understand and drive implementation of data confidentiality classification, personal information protection methods, data retention and destruction methodology
  • Profile data in order to identify critical data elements, design data quality rules and be able to investigate data quality issues, perform root cause analysis and drive resolution
  • Act as the primary point of contact and communicate with stakeholders regarding all data-related matters

Required qualifications, capabilities and skills

  • Strong understanding of data governance, data science, data engineering, data quality, and data security best practices
  • Ability to tackle design and functionality problems and work independently
  • Experienced in managing metadata and Data Management constructs through implementation of business glossary and technical data dictionaries
  • Familiarity with GDPR and other data protection & privacy regulations applicable for UK & EU
  • Strong influencing skills and ability to work with stakeholders at all levels of the business
  • Highly developed planning, organization and problem solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills – ability to communicate effectively and appropriately depending on the audience
  • Excellent analytical, decision making, planning, prioritization and problem solving skills
  • In-depth understanding of the application of data quality to deliver business value
  • Knowledge of and ability to use SQL a huge plus
