We are seeking a talented individual to lead the transformation of Cambridge Business Park into a vibrant mixed-use science-led place, part of the emerging North East Cambridge Innovation District. Role Overview: As the Delivery Director, you will be responsible for driving the design, planning, and successful delivery of our ambitious £1.6b project. Working closely with our Regeneration Director, Development Manager, and Asset Director, you will lead the design and delivery teams to maximize financial, social, and environmental value through best practices and innovation.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and Planning:
- Lead the external design team, ensuring performance against project briefs and timelines.
- Finalize team appointments and provide guidance to masterplanners, architects, and engineers.
- Develop project-specific strategies and objectives in collaboration with stakeholders.
- Oversee the production of a phasing strategy considering infrastructure timing and market conditions.
- Act as a liaison for key technical stakeholders and ensure a consistent approach to design principles.
Internal Team Collaboration:
- Collaborate with various functions within TCE to achieve the project vision and business plan.
- Chair project working groups to drive specific parts of the project, such as sustainability and asset management.
- Foster a culture of teamwork, knowledge sharing, and innovation within the organization.
Construction/Delivery:
- Drive procurement strategy, commercial management, and contractual controls.
- Ensure planning conditions and contractual requirements are met.
- Define and set up delivery plans, ensuring coordinated delivery and predictable outcomes.
- Manage contractor relationships and oversee dispute resolution processes.
Governance and Reporting:
- Establish robust governance and compliance processes, including a digitized management information platform.
- Monitor project budgets and prepare consolidated reporting for senior management.
- Proactively identify and manage business risks, including health and safety considerations.
Innovation:
- Promote industry advancements and innovation initiatives within the organization.
- Drive innovation opportunities in placemaking, digitalization, sustainability, and social impact.
Requirements:
- Proven track record in leading commercially-led mixed-use development projects.
- Deep understanding of the planning and delivery process.
- Ability to manage diverse workstreams and make optimal cost-benefit decisions.
- Strong negotiation and relationship-building skills.
- Experience in programme delivery management.
- Attention to detail and consistency in process application.
- Understanding of legislative and regulatory frameworks.
- Excellent communication and reporting skills.
