About the Role:
Reporting to the Director of People, this new role for SOAS will be tasked with establishing and steering the HR and L&D Business Partnering functions, with a particular focus on our customer-facing teams. This pivotal role will provide robust expert guidance and judgement to complex situations, ensuring compliance and fostering an employee experience that resonates with the university’s organisational values.
The role has overall responsibility for managing a programme of regular policy reviews, is the key liaison point for the campus trade unions and has lead responsibility for overseeing Employee Relations casework. The post holder is also responsible for projects to implement change strategically aligned to organisational priorities.
The Deputy Director has overall responsibility for the delivery of an effective, efficient and customer focused HR and L&D business partnering functions, to ensure our support, advice and intervention is well respected across the university. The role will also deputise for the People Director as necessary and be a key strategic adviser and thought partner to the HR leadership team.
