Our client is a leading agricultural equipment company, due to continued growth they are seeking a Design Engineer to join their office in Stonehouse. The role will be responsible for the prime driver of the design and development of their next generation products. The role is on a permanent basis where you will be based in the office Monday to Friday.
Key Responsibilities – Design Engineer
Respond to commercial briefs for product specifications
Developing innovative ideas for new products
Have experience managing products/ projects from concept to completion
Creating engineering drawings to obtain design approval
Designing new products on 3D CAD (currently siemens NX)
Design of fixtures and test equipment
Prototyping new products as required
Testing new products and using analysis to review / improve product design
Ensure all processes are adhered to and documentation completed
Verify designs with supporting documents and/or calculation
Qualifications & Experience – Design Engineer
Product Design experience
Designing components for plastic injection moulded components is desirable
5+ years’ experience
Background experience of 3D CAD is essential
Siemens NX experience would be highly advantageous
Experience liaising with tooling and manufacturing engineers is preferred but not essential
Practical workshop experience to work on prototypes
BSc/ BEng / HND or similar qualification in Engineering or a related field
