Job description
- Assist with writing and editing the Society’s written material, including suggesting edits to publications and reports, writing blogs on current affairs and updating web pages.
- Supporting the UK Communications team to turn press releases into blog and social media content.
- Monitor social media trends, and compile reports when necessary.
- Provide support in handling public queries, seeking advice from colleagues where appropriate.
- Provide support with managing and drafting content for the Society’s website and social media.
- Provide support to the Society’s digital campaigning work across the UK.
- Drafting and testing advocacy web pages such as petitions and ‘write to your MP’ actions.
- Drafting and testing email campaigns.
- Drafting social media posts for Instagram, X and Facebook.
- Support the team in delivering the ERS membership scheme and small donor fundraising activities.
- Answer queries from members and update their records.
- Assist at membership events such as the AGM.
- Contribute to the intellectual capital and development of the ERS via team meetings, blogs, staff meetings and planning/away days and by supporting colleagues as required.
- Work with colleagues to maximise the recruitment of new members, identified through campaigning and other activity.
- Undertake administrative and ‘back office’ tasks as required, including supporting events, operations and media.
- Undertake other related duties as required that your manager reasonably considers would assist the Society in meetings its objectives
