Southampton City Council is looking for a Electrical Engineer. As an Electrical Engineer, you will play an integral part within the multi-disciplinary Design Services team for the successful delivery of professional services for a variety of clients and sectors within the Council across a range of Electrical Engineering services.
You as the successful candidate will have an Engineering Degree or equivalent qualification, e.g. BSc or BEng, Professional Registration and hold a chartered professional accreditation such as the Institution of Electrical Engineers plus registration with the Engineering Council as an Incorporated Engineer, together with a minimum of 5 years post qualification
experience.
You will have proven experience in Electrical Engineering project design, project delivery, knowledge and understanding of relevant design and construction related legislation including Building Regulations and CDM 2015, along with relevant British Standards and be able demonstrate understanding of BIM requirements and ability to coordinate structural engineering designs with other design disciplines.
The successful candidate will communicate in a co-operative and persuasive manner and will be able to build excellent client and colleague relationships, as well as prioritise, delegate and manage multiple tasks or projects to meet deadlines.

- The working hours for this role are 37 hours per week
- This is a permanent position.
- Please note that appointments are usually made at the bottom of the salary scale.
- This post requires a DBS check.
