Finance Assistant

Overview

Silver Cloud has grown rapidly over the past five years, and we now need a Finance Assistant to join our busy in-house team. This role is vital to our business operations: we’re looking for someone who can help to make Silver Cloud even more effective, and who can provide excellent service to everyone who works for us or with us. Working alongside the senior Finance Assistant, you’ll ensure that our finance function runs smoothly and efficiently.

The Finance Assistant will be responsible for the daily processing and reconciliation of key account functions. In this varied role you will work with many Silver Cloud stakeholders, and you will have always have opportunities to challenge yourself and develop your career.

Responsibilities

• Review new sales orders and accurately enter sales order data into management systems.
• Manage debtors, and report weekly to senior management.
• Active credit control, ensuring payments are received in accordance with company payment terms.
• Assist the Revenue Manager with invoicing as required.
• Assist with collecting direct debits.
• Allocate cash payments and receipts.
• Fulfil managed print solutions tasks.
• Assist with balance sheet reconciliations.
• Assist with other finance tasks as required.
• Liaise with and assist stakeholders, customers, and clients as needed.
• Adhere to Silver Cloud’s financial policies and procedures.
• Suggest changes or improvements to increase accuracy, efficiency and profitability.

Skills and knowledge

• Minimum two years’ experience in a busy finance team at an SME (Small or Medium sized Enterprise).
• Experience of logging new sales orders.
• Good knowledge of IT and Microsoft products, inc Excel.
• Understanding of Xero is desired.
• Bookkeeping experience is desired.

Salary and Conditions

Salary £20k-£22k, depending on experience. Cycle to work scheme. Workplace pension. 28 days’ annual leave, inc public holidays. Flexible working.
