Hull City Council are looking to recruit to the role of Finance Assistant (Cash Collections) within the Payment & Banking Service.
We are looking for an individual who can join a team delivering a cash and banking service for internal and external customers, whilst maintaining compliance with legislation and banking industry standards.
Located in the City Treasury Building, you will be required to operate Council vehicles to collect and deliver a CASH COLLECTION service and it is essential that you hold a full UK driving licence.
You must have experience of working in an administration environment and using Microsoft Office systems. You will have excellent customer service skills, can demonstrate good levels of numerical and analytical skills, and the ability to maintain a high level of accuracy with strong attention to detail.
You will undertake a range of duties that include:
- driving the collection vehicle, collecting on-street and car park meters and other locations
- bending, lifting cash bags, pushing and pulling trolleys, and working in all weather conditions
- counting cash, both manually and mechanically, and verify cheques
- preparing cash floats and deliver to locations
- maintain security controls and records
- processing and entering data on office systems and use a range of software packages
- dealing with customers in person, over the telephone and via email.
Please note that it is an essential requirement that the successful applicant holds a driving licence.
