This position involves spearheading financial management and strategic planning for our logistics network and manufacturing sites, addressing the unique challenges posed by the post-COVID landscape in the drinks industry.
About the Role
You will develop and implement financial strategies tailored to the Operations business, anticipating challenges and opportunities. You will also ensure successful strategy implementation aligns with medium- and long-term business needs within the overarching C&C strategy.
In this pivotal role you will provide integral financial considerations in business decisions, challenging and stretching strategy, plans, and performance. You will build and lead a high-performing logistics team, fostering teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement offering guidance, coaching, and professional development to team members.
You will conduct in-depth cost analysis within Operations, recommending cost-saving opportunities and overall efficiencies alongside Identifying and implementing reductions in working capital to enhance financial performance.
Collaboration is key in this role, you will cultivate deep relationships across Finance and Operations teams, focusing on value creation, business decisions, and influence.
You will support Operations in driving performance through insights, advice, and decision-making support as well as establishing key performance indicators and measures for tracking financial performance.
You will lead the budgeting and 3-Year Planning process for the Operations business and look to monitor actual performance against budget, providing variance analysis and actionable insights. You will also evaluate and prioritize capital expenditure proposals for logistics and manufacturing infrastructure improvements as well as identify, track, and realize financial benefits associated with capital projects.
Key Accountabilities
Operations Financial Strategy:
- Develop and implement financial strategies specific to the Operations business, anticipating complex issues, challenges, and opportunities. Ensure that the strategies are successfully implemented and meet medium- and long-term business needs in line with the overarching C&C strategy.
- Provide support to challenge and stretch strategy, plans and performance and ensures that financial consideration is integral to business decisions.
Cost Analysis and Optimisation
- Conduct in-depth analysis of costs within Operations, make recommendations on cost-saving opportunities, reductions in working capital and overall efficiencies.
Cross functional Collaboration
- Builds deep relationships across the Finance and Operations teams, within a focus on value creation, business decisions and influence.
Performance Management
- Support Operations business to drive performance through providing insights, advice, and decision-making support.
- Establish key performance indicators and measures to track financial performance. Use data driven insight to identify opportunities/areas of risks and make recommendations for action.
Budget & Strategic Planning
- Lead the budgeting and 3 Year Planning process for the Operations business.
- Monitor actual performance against budget and QFR and provide variance analysis and actionable insights to drive improved performance and efficiencies.
Capital Expenditure Planning
- Evaluate proposals and prioritise capital expenditure for infrastructure improvements across Logistics and Manufacturing. Ensure that financial benefits are identified, tracked and realised.
About you
You will be a Qualified Accountant (ACCA/CIMA/ICAEW/ACA) ideally with 10+ years of experience.
Ideally you will have extensive experience in a senior financial role, preferably within the beverage or FMCG industry.
